Who’s Constance?!
So many women that book sessions in my Washington studio (30 minutes south of Pittsburgh) are a referral from other women that have had a boudoir experience with me. I hear very often on phone consultations things like, “They said you made them feel so comfortable and I and so nervous to do this” or “My friend LOVED her images and said you were so fun to work with, so I don’t want to look anywhere else” and I can’t tell you how much that warms my heart to hear! It can be uncomfortable stripping down to your skimpies in front of a stranger, but we do 2 consultations before your session, and if you follow me on socials, especially my Boudoir by Constance Ladies Lounge page, you’ll get to know me pretty well before your session.
In case you have just stumbled upon this blog though and don’t know anyone that has had a boudoir photoshoot with me…. Heyyyyyy! I’m Constance! Raised in Pittsburgh, PA for most of my childhood, married to an amazing man that is also the father of our two young children. I know first-hand how hard it is to be a mom, take care of the household, keep a healthy marriage, run a successful business, make time for your friends, and somehow still squeeze in me-time. You are not alone sis, and if you’re balancing some of this too, cheers!
After 9 years of teaching high school special education, including earning 2 dual bachelor degrees, a master’s degree, and 4 teaching certificates, I left the industry to pursue a passion that sets my soul on fire: empowering other women by giving them confidence that can cut glass through boudoir photography.
After my son was born, I struggled HARD with postpartum anxiety relating to body image. Two sizes bigger and only 4 pounds heavier… how? Like… how?! The stretch marks, the loose skin, the puffiness… I felt like I didn’t look or feel like myself at all. In attempts to help my self-image, my husband gifted me a boudoir photoshoot and I would go as far as to say it changed my life. My perception of myself completely changed: I felt beautiful, strong, confident, and was able to view myself from a different angle than I saw on a daily basis.
It was at that moment that I knew I needed to share this with the world, and not only did I begin to niche down in my photography hobby, but I went as far as quitting my stable day job of teaching because I believed in this with all my heart. And now, this is all I specialize in. We do not offer wedding photography or family photoshoots; boudoir and female empowerment (as well as couples boudoir sessions) is all that our entire team caters to. Over half of the women that book sessions with me are considered to be “plus size” or “curvy” and I love showing the world that all bodies are worthy of being loved.
Being a mom and running a business I don’t have a lot of free-time, but when I do you can find me visiting my friends for a “girls night out,” date nights with my husband, or shopping aimlessly through TJMaxx for things I probably don’t need. Las Vegas and the Virgin Islands are my favorite vacation spots, tacos and margaritas will forever be my favorite meal, and I will always laugh at a bad dad joke. As a Christian I am also an LGBTQIA+ ally, and a lot of people disagree with that, but Jesus loved everyone, sooo….
Keeping the busy working woman in mind, I have designed your entire experience so everything is done in one day! All outfits are available, we provide hair and makeup, and we even get you digitals delivered the same day. Give me 6 hours of your time, and I will give you confidence that can cut glass.
