Hosiery 101

I love to educate clients about non-traditional outfit options in case they want to mix things up outside of the normal bodysuit or bra-and-panty set that is most common for sessions. Hosiery is a great way to do that!

Hosiery, aka leg wear, comes in a variety of different styles! These can be a fun way to add some spice to your session. We carry a few of these items at the studio in the Client Closet, but we do recommend bringing your own for the best fit.

Bodystockings

These are an uncommon favorite of our studio! They come in so many different styles and they are so fun to photograph. They look really amazing on all body types, don't be intimidated by the snugness of them! We love all the fun lace details in the patterns. They come with or without legs (we love the ones with legs). There are so many different options so look around and find some fun ones to bring! We do prefer the black ones as they look better with shoes than the colored ones.

Knee highs

These are not really a go-to for us, but if you like them feel free to bring them in! We prefer thigh highs.

Stockings, held by a suspender belt

We love a thigh-high stocking! We have many pieces at the studio that can be worn with thigh highs, and they just add that classic sex appeal to your images. Don't worry about the lumps they sometimes cause, we can smooth that out in editing if you want! It's totally normal for them to fit snugly so they stay up. We recommend bringing a backup pair or two in case they tear or run.

Tights (British English; also common in American usage) or pantyhose (American English)

These can be fun and sexy too! We love fishnets especially. Again, just bring a few backups in case of tears.

Legwarmers

These are definitely non-traditional if you love them they are something we can make work! I only recommend these though if they are something you use in your everyday closet.

Hopefully this gives you some fun ideas and inspiration for what you could wear to your session. And you probably learned something too!

Tell us in our Facebook group which you would wear, if any!
